Elementary Costume ContestCostumes should represent Greek or Roman characters: soldiers, gods, figures from history and mythology, or historic "types" such as farmer, orator, etc.Contestants should be prepared to walk across the stage during the fashion show and to explain their costumes to the audience and judges. They should bring with them an index card on which is written an explanation of the costume they are wearing. Nothing in the explanation should indicate the name or school of the contestant. Each student will be assigned a number for identification. Elementary school students should make their costumes with a minimum of adult assistance. Contestants will be judged on originality and quality of their costumes, but also on the poise, style and accuracy of their presentations.
